ELIS Villamartín hosts the Cognita Spain & Italy School Improvement Network meeting

Cognita SIN Meeting March 2023

Last Thursday and Friday, the 16th and 17th of March, ELIS Villamartín hosted the Cognita School Improvement Network (SIN) meeting. SIN meetings allow company and school leaders to meet and discuss educational and professional priorities for the year ahead.

Visitors included the Group Chief Education Officer, Dr. Simon Camby, the Managing Director of Cognita Spain and Italy, Germà Rigau; the Assistant Director of Education of Cognita Spain and Italy, Chris Eversden, and Principals and Heads from all the Cognita schools in these two countries, amongst others.

The first part of this two-day meeting focused on looking in detail at how clear and embedded mission, aims and values can result in clarity of purpose, which, in turn, will allow for successful implementation of the new Cognita Framework.

The second day included a very interesting session aimed at giving the best possible response to the question, ‘Which objective in your current School Improvement Plan is proving to be the most challenging to make concrete progress in?’ which led to very interesting and useful inputs and case studies.

A very useful two-day gathering which allowed our schools to benefit from each other’s best practices, and to face future challenges together with confidence.
