This week, ELIS Villamartín donated multimedia equipment to the CEIP Las Esperanzas of San Pedro del Pinatar and the CEOM association of Murcia, aimed at promoting the integration of people with disabilities. In the case of CEOM, ELIS already maintains a close relationship by employing some of its associates in its sister school in Murcia.
Mr. Miguel Marín, Principal at CEIP Las Esperanzas and Mr José Tomás Nicolás and Mrs Angélica Romero, President and Secretary of CEOM, among others, were present at the moment of delivery. They were welcomed by Mr Chris Eversden, Executive Director of ELIS Cognita. In total, the amount of 36 computers and 5 interactive whiteboards has been delivered, which will allow the beneficiaries to expand their computing and teaching resources substantially. In the words of Mr Miguel Marín, “Thanks to this donation, all the students of the same class at our school will be able to attend ICT & Computing lessons at one time, without needing to divide it into two shifts.” For Mr José Tomás, “This equipment will be destined to improve and update both our training room and to improve the equipment and service provided in our offices.” In the coming weeks ELIS Murcia will join this initiative by donating a new batch of multimedia equipment to other schools in the Region of Murcia. Both donations are the result of Cognita’s determined commitment to continually updating computer equipment for teaching & learning in our schools.
