Pupil Care

Pupil Care

In addition to providing academic training of exceptional quality, El Limonar International School Murcia aims to offer students experiences outside the classroom which contribute to their overall personal and social development.

All staff at El Limonar International School Murcia are proud of our community and actively promote positive values. Personal relations are based on respect and confidence, and we strive to ensure that all students feel cared for and safe.

Our school is aware of the importance of social skills and self-confidence in intellectual and social development. We strive to provide the best possible education, whereby students receive excellent academic preparation, display good manners and are ready to take up their places in real life.

Tutor Programme/PSHE

El Limonar International School Murcia considers the tutor to be a key figure. Class tutors are supported by subject coordinators, Heads of section, the School Deputy Head and Principal and, of course, by parents. Students have daily contact with their tutors at all stages.

The tutor has an overall view of the social, emotional and academic progress of each student. Parents can contact the tutor whenever they wish or should academic or personal development concerns arise.

Tutors are responsible for the delivery of the subject of Personal, Social and Health Education. This subject contributes to the development of healthy, independent and responsible citizens, as well as to the understanding of what it means to be a member of a diverse and multicultural society.

Assemblies are celebrated regularly at El Limonar International School Murcia. This is a time shared by teachers and pupils, with the prime objective being to reinforce the philosophy and spirit of the school, as well as giving the children the opportunity to reflect on moral values and issues.

Pupils are always involved in assemblies and it is standard practice for them to do presentations in front of their peers. It is also an opportunity to celebrate students’ academic or other achievements, or to share general information about activities taking place in and out of school.

The Mentoring Programme at El Limonar International Scool Murcia offers students from Years 11, 12 and 13 the opportunity to help the younger students of Years 7 to 9 develop academically, personally and socially.

At the same time, the programme confers on the older students a responsibility which promotes their maturity and facilitates their acquisition of social competence and leadership qualities.

Mentors receive specific training to enable them to assume the important role of “older brothers and sisters”, and work closely with the tutors and the Mentoring Programme Coordinator.

Student Council

Within the Student Council forum, students experience participation in a democratic process, and learn to manage their development in a formal, professional context.

The Student Council is made up of one representative from each tutor group.
