ELIS Murcia (Buenavista campus / Lower School)
The school is set in 63.000 m2 of grounds and comprises six buildings: four for teaching, one for administration; and a new multi-purpose examination and assembly hall. January 2015 saw the completion and inauguration of new Early Years facilities: as well as a new multi-purpose examination and assembly hall, we now have a purpose-built state-of-the-art building for our Early Years and KS1 students (3 – 6 year old) that unquestionably represents the vanguard of educational opportunities for young learners in the Murcian community.
All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers, and all students have access to class sets of iPads and Tablets. The teaching buildings house IT suites, Science laboratories, Art rooms, Drama and Music studios. Outdoor facilities include an open-air amphitheatre, tennis and paddle courts, a swimming pool, numerous sports pitches and play areas equipped according to the needs of each age group.
ELIS Murcia (Montevida campus / Upper School)
Our commitment to educational excellence and families that have trust us throughout the years, culminates in the Montevida project, that provides a quality working and learning environment for the students to face higher education.
August 2019 saw the start of the construction of 15.000m2 of state-of-the-art facilities in which ELIS Murcia Secondary and Sixth Form/Bachillerato students enjoy the highest quality education available in our region in the nearby Montevida urbanization (La Alberca, Murcia).
The new site, who opened it doors in September 2020, will offer 450 additional places over the next 8 – 10 years, providing an amazing learning environment for our broad and balanced curriculum. The facility includes specialist installations for athletics, sport, theatre studies, Art and Design, Music, Sciences and investigation. The centre is designed to promote collaborative, active learning and to develop study skills within a modern environment.
The school itself is the focus of the learning and teaching process: It has been designed to have a minimal environmental impact, both through its construction materials and energy use; and is the first Cognita school purposefully designed and built in a way to take advantage of the fantastic surroundings offered by our region. These fundamental environmental credentials include:
- Generation of its own electricity;
- Integrated air temperature control systems;
- Collection and storage of rainwater and its use across the school;
- Construction using low-impact building materials;
- Maximized use of the beautiful Verdolay natural environment for teaching and learning.
This is an educational centre that both our school community and the city of Murcia can feel proud of and which, at the same time, allows for a redevelopment of our Early Years & Primary facilities on the current site in El Palmar to create a more spacious and rich learning environment full of new and modern equipment.
ELIS Murcia, Montevida campus, closes our students educational path with a flourish and it’s a brilliant prelude to a successful higher education.
ELIS Villamartín
El Limonar International School Villamartín is an international, British curriculum school for boys and girls with more than 500 pupils aged 3 – 18 of more than 35 different nationalities on roll. The school follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales and prepares its pupils for further education both in Spain and abroad. About 80% of the school day is taught through English.
Due to an ambitious remodelling carried out in the 2018-2019 school year, the school currently has the best facilities of Early Years in the Vega Baja, which allow our youngest students to be integrated in an environment in which they feel happy and safe. This is linked to an advanced curricular model, based on the proven fact that learning is better when it is directed by the children themselves through exploration and play.
The purpose-built School is set in 12.000m² grounds. The building has a floor space of 5.000m² and consists of 56 classrooms averaging 60m² in size. They are equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers, as well as an outstanding complement of iPads and tablets for our students’ exclusive use. In addition, there are computer suites, laboratories, an A-Level Study Centre and Common Room, dedicated music and art rooms, a magnificent drama area with capacity for 200 people, Early Years motricity room and indoor gym, Examination office, Inclusion Department, staff rooms, meeting rooms, offices, kitchens and dining hall. Outdoor facilities include separated Early Years and Primary play areas, with safety rubber flooring and grass, an outdoor learning environment, a grassed Primary playground and multi-purpose football and basketball pitches.
