STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. As part of the day, we had our students taking part in a series of interesting and exciting activities which made them think about the world of STEAM and also the opportunities that it presents for them.
Our students in Years 7, 8 and 9 started with a STEAM based challenge and took part in activities based on each of the STEAM disciplines. At the end of the day, there was a STEAM presentation led by our science teachers for them all.
Our students in the older years took part in a STEAM fair, where employers and professionals from STEAM careers came to the school and talked about what they do and how students can get involved. They also had the opportunity to take part in a virtual tour of the CERN facility in Geneva and also took part in a range of STEAM challenges. The day also included an interesting round table about women in Science.
We are sure that they all had a great and useful time and learnt a lot!
